Pertamina EP sets drilling program for Pondok Makmur field

PT Pertamina EP, a subsidiary of state oil and gas company, plans to drill two exploration wells and one development well in Pondok Makmur field in Bekasi, West Java, this year as a move to boost the company?s long-term output, company Director for Operation, Doddy Priambodo told Petromindo.com.
At present, Pondok Makmur field produced an average of 1,300 barrels of oil per day and 15 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD).
He said Pertamina EP targets production to increase to 1,750 barrels of oil per day this year, while gas production slightly lower at 13 MMSCFD.
He said the company is currently constructing production facilities which are expected to be completed in 2013. The production facilities are expected to help boost the field?s production to 4,000 barrels of oil per day.
President Director of PT Pertamina EP, Syamsu Alam, added that Pertamina EP is currently conducting evaluation on sub-surface data on the Pondok Makmur field before movjng forward with aggressive expansion.
Pondok Makmur field is situated at Pertamina EP?s Tambun and Pondok Tengah fields, where Pertamina has been producing oil and gas.
Oil production at Tambun, which once peaked at 12.000 barrels per day (bpd) tends to decline. Future production from Pondok Makmur is expected to increase Pertamina?s production in Bekasi area.
Oil production from Tambun is pipelined to the Balongan refinery in West Java through Tagal Gede, while its gas output is channeled to the Muara Karang power plant, also in Bekasi.
