Pertamina EP spuds RNT-IA7 well in Rantau

PT Pertamina EP announced it had started spudding the RNT-IA7 well at Kebun Rantau village of Rantau district in Aceh Tamiang, about 10 km east of Kuala Simpang, Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam.
The drilling started on September 21 and is scheduled to complete within 17 days once the drilling reaches 750 meter measured depth from the drilling surface base, it said in a statement. The company said the well was the ninth location in the field it has spudded from full-year?s target of 10 as stated under its 2012 work plan.
The well is being spudded using the CWKT 210B/2A rig owned by Pertamina Drilling Service Indonesia (PDSI) with a 400 HP drilling power capacity.
Rantau Field Manager Jayasuria Danuatmaja said that the well will serve as an injection well in the western part of A2 Rantau Structure to increase recovery level at zone-600.
