PT Pertamina EP (PEP), a subsidiary of stated-owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina (Persero), said that the company has been spudding the Kawista-1 well in Klamono block, Papua starting on Oct. 16, 2013.

"Currently the well has been drilled to a depth of 370 meters," PEP's President Director Syamsu Alam told Petromindo.com on Friday.

Doddy Priambodo, PEP?s Exploration Director, added that the depth target of the well is 2,150 m, using rig from PT Permata Drilling International.

The firm initially planned to drill the well in August this year, but postponed it due to unfavorable weather conditions.
