PT Pertamina EP (PEP), a subsidiary of state-owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina, said that its Pertamina EP Asset 2 unit in South Sumatra has agreed to supply 2 mmscfd of gas to the recently inaugurated PLTMG Sematang Borang gas engine power plant.

PEP Asset 2 General Manager Ekariza said in a statement last week that supply trial for the 2x7 MW power plant has been conducted recently.

He said that to date, PEP Asset 2 has distributed between 380-390 mscfd of gas to consumers either through own pipelines or those operated by affiliate PT Pertamina Gas.

The Sematang Borang power plant was inaugurated on May 25. The plan, operated by PT Sarana Pembangunan Palembang, is expected to start commercial operation in February 2017 to supply power to consumers in Palembang.
