The facility which will occupy about eight hectares of land is now under a feasibility study for its Front end Engineering Design (FEED), Heri Budiarso, the field's production manager, said on Monday.
He added the company expected to tender the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract of the project in April this year.
At present, Pertamina EP uses a rented production facility to process crudes from the field. The lease contract for the facility which has a capacity of between 4,000 and 6,000 barrels of fluid per day will expire at the end of the first half of this year.
The company will also soon begin the construction of a 3.3-km pipeline connecting the PDM01 and PDM 05 wells to support the production activities.
At present, Pertamina EP produces between 1,600 and 1,700 barrels of oil per day at the Pondok Makmur field. The crude oil from the field is delivered to the Balongan refinery plant in Indramayu for further processing. (giok).
