Pertamina EP to conduct 2D, 3D seismic survey in Block Nona, East Java

PT Pertamina EP (PEP), a subsidiary of state oil and gas company PT Pertamina plans to conduct 2D and 3D seismic in Block Nona, Jombang onshore East Java in July this year, a company official said.

Agus Amperianto, Manager for Public Affair of PEP, told Petromindo.com that it has secured support from Jombang Regency government to carry out the survey.

Block Nona covers a 4,000 square hectares of area encompassing six sub-districts. The 2D seismic will be conducted along a 50-kilometers stretch of route.

The seismic survey is aimed at ascertaining oil and gas reserves in the area and it will start in July 2012 and last for about 3-4 months. The survey will cover picturing the topography of the land, conducting shallow drilling test to record seismic and other related data.
