Pertamina EP to conduct seismic surveys on several fields

Pertamina EP, an upstream unit of State oil and gas company PT Pertamina (Persero), plans to conduct 2D and 3D seismic surveys in several fields in several provinces in Indonesia including South Lampung, Jambi, Sangatta and Bunyu island in East Kalimantan.

The company?s president director Salis Aprilian said in Jakarta on Tuesday that the 3D survey in South Lampung would be conducted by Elnusa in the first quarter of this year.

Meanwhile the company?s VP for exploration, Doddy Priambodo, said that Pertamina EP would conduct six seismic surveys this year in several areas in North Sumatra, Kalimantan, Lampung, Jambi, West Java and South Sumatra.

In the near future a 3D survey would be conducted at Akasia Bagus in West Java and 2D survey in Rantau, North Sumatra. ?The seismic survey in Akasia Bagus is currently under tender process,? he said, adding the tender is expected to be completed in the next two month. Meanwhile, for the seismic 2D survey tender in Rantau will be held in March. (giok)
