Pertamina EP to drill 11 additional wells in Matindok

PT Pertamina EP, an upstream unit of state-owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina, plans to drill 11 additional wells in the Matindok gas field in Central Sulawesi, Investor Daily reported on Tuesday.

The company has previously drilled eight wells, which cost about US$40.8 million. The project is expected to begin gas production in November of 2014.

?We?ll add 11 wells to be drilled, so that in total there will be 19 wells drilled,? said General Manager of Pertamina EP, Medianto.

He said that the company is currently conducting a tender process to select contractor for the planned EPC work, which is scheduled to begin over the next 2-3 months. The EPC work is targeted to be concluded in early 2014, so that the project can start production at the end of the year. The Matindok area is projected to produce 80 mmscfd of gas, which is planned to be supplied to a refinery owned by PT Donggi Senoro LNG.(*)
