Pertamina EP to drill new well in Rantau field

PT Pertamina EP (PEP) is prepraring to drill the RNT-HZ3 well of the Rantau field in Kebun Rantau village, Rantau district, Aceh Tamiang regeny, Aceh.
The RNT-HZ3 is a horizontal well. It will be drilled using the 450 hp Skytop rig owned by Pertamina Drilling Service Indonesia (PDSI). The target depth is 1000 meters and the work duration is 27 days, PEP said in a statement obtained on Thursday.
The drilling aims to produce from the Z.600 B and C sandstone layer. After production, the well will be renamed P-446, the firm said.
During a ceremony attended by the local communit leaders and authorities to mark the start of the drilling, PT Pertamina EP Rantau Field Manager Agus Amperianto called on the local community and authorities to suport the drilling plan
