PT Pertamina EP (PEP), a subsidiary of state-owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina, aims to increase oil production to 128,000 bopd next year, and gas output to reach 10,071 mmscfd.

The company said in a statement obtained on Tuesday that the targets have been set in the 2014 work and budget plan.

To help achieve the higher oil production target, PEP plans to drill 87 wells in 2014, said company Development Director Satoto Agustono.

The company earlier this year set oil production of between 127,000-129,000 bopd. But production is expected to only reach around 125,000 bopd as the company?s drilling programs have been hampered by various obstacles including difficulties in land acquisition.
