Pertamina EP to realize city gas, CNG in Bunyu

As production of Bunyu field has increased, PT Pertamina EP Asset 5 Field Bunyu and the local administration of Bulungan regency are ready to realize the programs of city gas and the compressed natural gas (CNG) in Bunyu island.
The oil and gas production from Bunyu field has recently increased from about 5,000 barrels of oil per day to about 7,000 barrels per day, and gas up to 8 MMSCFD.
The gas production so far is used to fulfill the need of Bunyu and Tarakan power plants. With the gas production increase, there is about 1.5 MMSCFD that can be used for other purposes.
?It?s been decided that the gas will be used to realize the program of city gas and CNG in Bunyu island,? Pertamina EP Field Bunyu Field Manager Suyitno Salindeho said in Tanjung Selor, on Friday.
The city gas program between Pertamina EP Asset 5 Bunyu Field and the local administration will utilize the flare gas to meet the need of local households.
He said that Pertamina EP last March has stated its commitment to supplying gas at 0,5 MMSCFD for the city gas program.
The CNG program will be realized to fulfill the need of local fisehermen who until now mostly use diesel fuel (BBM).
