Pertamina EP to spud R-165TW well in Aceh

PT Pertamina EP, an upstream subsidiary of state-owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina, plans to spud the R-165TW well in Rantau field in Rantau District, Aceh Tamiang Regency, Aceh, this year.

While did not specify the exact schedule as to when it would spud the well, the company said in a statement on Friday the 27-day drilling program will use the Sky Top 450 HP rig owned by PT Pertamina Drilling Service Indonesia (PDSI), with a target to reach a final depth of 834 meter True Vertical Deep from the bor floor.

Pertamina EP said that it has recently held a campaign to win support from the local communities and administration for the drilling program, which is aimed at helping to increase oil production.
