Pertamina EP to spud RNT-PA7 well

PT Pertamina EP said it had started to spud RNT-PA4 well in Rantau field at Kebun Rantau village of Rantau district in Aceh Tamiang, about 10 km east of Kuala Simpang, Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam.

Rantau Field Manager Jayasuria Danuatmaja said that the exloration drilling was finalized last Thursday (June 28) as part of its 2012 work plan. The drilling was aimed to produce a hydrocarbon structure of the field, particularly of its Z-600 layer. After production, the RNT-PA7 well will become P-417 well, he said.

Speaking during a social gathering to mark the drilling campaign in Rantau, he said that the well was spudded with the CWKT 210B/2A rig owned by Pertamina Drilling Service Indonesia (PDSI), which has a 400 HP drilling power capacity.

According to its plan, the well was to be drilled up to a final depth of 750 meter measured depth (MD) from the drilling surface base. The drilling was started on June 15 with an estimated time of completion within 20 days.
