Pertamina EP upbeat about new finding prospects in Sumatra

PT Pertamina EP announced new hydrocarbon findings in Sumatra following successful exploration drillings in Binjai and Prabumulih.
A production testing in Banggala (BGL-1) well has resulted in flows of 13.2 mmscfd gas and 857.5 bpd condensate. Meanwhile in Hibiscus Selatan (HBS-1) well, a test has flowed 111.9 bopd and 0.2 mmscfd gas, a company statement said.
The exploration drillings were part of attempts to reactivate operations in NAD block in northern Sumatra after a 7-year hiatus.
Throughout 2012, Pertamina EP has completed seismic survey spanning 3,645 km (2D) and 2,285 km (3D), drillings in 22 exploration wells. In 2013, the company plans to drill 28 exploration wells and carry out 2D seismic of 817 km and 3D seismic covering 1,488 km.
