PT Pertamina EP (PEP) is increasingly concerned with activities of villagers illegally operating oil wells at its working areas in Musi Banyuasin, South Sumatra, to steal oil.
PEP Public Relations Manager Agus Amperianto told Petromindo.com on Saturday that the company has engaged the Indonesian Military to help curb on the illegal activities as they both could cause harm to the environment and people?s life.
During a recent operation by the military, many of the company?s vital assets have been illegally snatched by the irresponsible villagers, but have since been returned to the company.
Pertamina EP noted that there are 7 oil wells, which initially were controlled by the illegal tappers, but have been returned to the company, Pertamina EP Field Ramba, which are expected to provide additional oil output of 200 bopd.
