Pertamina executives heading for Kazakhstan

Top executives of state owned oil and gas company PT Pertamina led by President Director Karen Agustiawan will be heading for Kazakhstan this week to explore the nation?s oil and gas exploration potentials as well as crude oil supply for Pertamina?s refineries.

?Energy and Mineral Resources Minister and Pertamina President Director will be going to Kazakhstan, in part to look for crude oil supply amounting to 100,000 bpd,? Minister Jero Wacik said yesterday. Earlier, Pertamina has said it was interested in acquiring several oil and gas blocks in Kazakhstan to take advantage of the special offer made by the Kazakhstan government.

M. Husein, Pertamina Director of Upstream, confirmed about the visit and said it would be an opportunity to get first-hand information regarding the potentials there.

?But no specific targets as yet. We will only look for potentials there,? he told petromindo.com.

In addition to Kazakhstan, he added, Pertamina is also looking for similar actions in Middle East and Latin America.
