Pertamina expanding its bunker fuel market

State oil and gas company PT Pertamina said it has begun marketing its marine or bunker fuel to Singapore, targeting vessels and ships sailing from Singapore to Indonesian waters, including cruise ships, a company official said.

?We have begun marketing our bunker fuel to Singapore market beginning early January this year. We are targeting ships, including cruise ships sailing from Singapore to Bali,? Djaelani Sutomo, Director for Marketing and Trading of PT Pertamina, told Petromindo.com.

The company?s bunker fuel price follows international market price.

The company said that in 2011 it sold as much as 300,000 kiloliters (kl) of bunker fuel to marine industry . It has set a plan to boost its bunker fuel sales gradually to a peak of 1 million kl in five years. So far, Pertamina mainly sells its bunker fuel to domestic marine industry.

Pertamina has more than 20 branch offices located in major ports of Indonesia, including Jakarta, Surabaya, Semarang, Medan, Batam, Benoa and Makasar.
