Pertamina expects Karaha Bodas geothermal project to start ops 2013

Geothermal unit of state oil, gas company PT.Pertamina said it would spend US$60 million to develop Karaha Bodas power plant in West Java.

PT.Pertamina Geothermal Energi (PGE) CEO Abadi Poernomo told reporters that the company will initially develop 30MW power plant in Karaha Bodas with completions seen in 2013.

Abadi said currently the company is in the process of completing feasibility study and construction works will take place in 2010.

Abadi added that the company will sell the electricity produced to state electricity firm PLN. (bernard)
