Pertamina exports lubricant to Nepal

State oil and gas company PT Pertamina (Persero) has expanded its overseas lubricant market to Nepal. Marking its initial export to Nepal, the state oil and gas company shipped on Monday 2 containers of Mesran and Enduro lubricant brands with a volume of 12,000 liters to the South Asian country.

The brands comprise Mesran Super 20W50 SGCD Drum 209 L, Mesran Super 20W50 SGCD Box 6x4 L, Mesran Super 20W50 SGCD Box 20x1 L and Enduro 4T 20W50 Box 20x1 L.

Pertamina Vice President Lubricant Supriyanto DH sent off the export to Nepal on Monday.

Pertamina has appointed Riddhi Siddhi Trade Concern its country distributor in Nepal, the 11th country of destination of Pertamina?s lubricant after Belgium, Saudi Arabia, Myanmar, Singapore, Taiwan, the Philipines, Timor Leste, Australia, Japan, China, Pakistan and United Arab Emirates.

Pertamina also controls 60 percent of domestic lubricant market. Public appreciation of the products was evidenced in the Top Brand Award 2010 given by the Frontier Consulting Group and Marketing magazine in Feb. 9, 2010. Mesran also was awarded as The Greatest Brand of the Decade by Mark Plus and Indonesia Original Brand from SWA magazine.

In industrial market, Pertamina continued to cement its dominance when it won the tender worth Rp 176 billion to procure lubricant for PLN power plants across the country in 2010, edging out foreign producers Total and Shell. (giok)
