Pertamina exports lubricants to China

State oil and gas company Pertamina has begun the shipment of its lubricants to China, the 19th export destination of the company?s lubricant products.

Pertamina?s president director Karen Agustiawan said in Jakarta the company?s lubricant Fastron officially entered China on Monday and would be distributed to the country?s 26 provinces under local brand Pertamina SuTeLong.

Karen said Pertamina Fastron or Pertamina SuTeLong which has received recognition from several automotive companies such as Mercedez Benz and BMW would be marketed in four and five liters containers.

"China has become Pertamina?s 19th overseas distribution centers," Karen said, saying the Chinese lubricant market being six times bigger than Indonesia?s is quite potential to the future growth of the sales of the company?s lubricant products.

Pertamina expects to sell one million liters in the first year of its market expansion in China. With the car sales growth of between 6 and 7 percent, Pertamina?s lubricant sale in China is expected to reach 5 million liters a year by 2015.

Pertamina has appointed local company, Tengyu Trading (Shanghai) Co.Ltd which is based in Shanghai as the country distributor of its lubricant product in China.

At present, Pertamina exports its lubricants to Australia, Belgium, Pakistan, UAE, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Singapore, Taiwan and Japan.

As of November, 2011, the export volume of Pertamina?s lubricants had reached 156,000 kiloliters. The company estimated total lubricant sales would reach 565,430 liters in 2011, a 13 percent increase from the previous year?s. In 2012, the company expects total lubricant sales will further increase to 596,000 kiloliters.
