Pertamina, Exspan discover gas in S. Sulawesi

State oil and gas firm Pertamina and Exspan Nusantara, a subsidiary of Medco Energy International, have discovered a gas reserve of an estimated 20 trillion cubic feet in Matindok, South Sulawesi following an exploratory drilling jointly carried out by the two firms, Pertamina?s upstream director Iin Arifin Takhyan said on Tuesday.
?The reserve estimate is quite big. We have yet to undertake delineation, which will be followed with reserve certification,? Iin told reporters.
Last week, Pertamina announced the discovery of an oil and gas reserve in Subang regency, West Java province. The well could produce 1,559 barrels of oil per day and between 4.53 million cubic feet per day (mmcfd) to 12.23 mmcfd of gas. (Leo)
