Pertamina eyeing oil, gas blocks in Middle East, South America countries

State oil and gas company PT Pertamina said it is currently on the lookout to acquire oil and gas blocks in a number of Middle East as well as South American countries as part of the company?s move to grow its oil and gas business abroad.

"There are opportunities in Oman, Iraq and Egypt in Middle East and Venezuela and Bolivia in South America. We can't disclose the names of the blocks just yet,? Deputy Director for Upstream Business Development of PT Pertamina, Adriansyah, told Petromindo.com

Earlier this week it was reported that Pertamina executives would be heading for Khazaktan to seek oil and gas exploration opportunities as well as crude oil supply for its refineries.

Pertamina executives led by President Director Karen Agustiawan is set to fly to Khazaktan with Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Jero Wacik this week.
