Pertamina eyeing upstream cooperation with PTT, Sinopec

State oil and gas company PT.Pertamina (Persero) is evaluating possibility to swap interest in upstream blocks with Thai oil firm PTTEP, a company official said on Monday.

Pertamina Vice President Director Iin Arifin Takhyan said both Pertamina and PTTEP are currently preparing blocks’ data for interest swap.

He did not give further detail.

He also said that Pertamina is also pursuing cooperation with Chinese oil firm China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation (Sinopec) to conduct joint exploration in Pertamina’s working area or joint study to acquire new exploration block.

Pertamina Deputy Director Upstream Tri Siwindono said that Pertamina and Sinopec would likely conduct joint exploration in North Sumatra. (godang)
