State owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina is considering to export part of automotive diesel fuel to be produced by its Tuban refinery in East Java when it is completed and starts operation in 2021.
Director of Processing and Petrochemical Megaproject at Pertamina Rachmad Hardadi said that the Tuban refinery will produce 25,000 bpd of jet fuel, 100,000 bpd of automotive diesel, and 90,000 bpd of gasoline.
Rachmad said the firm plans to export part of the automotive diesel particularly to Australia, which has been importing the product from Singapore.
He said Tuban is closer to Australia than Singapore. He added that Australia is a prospective market as the country is projected to remain in deficit automotive diesel until 2045.
Rahmad also said that its partner in the Tuban project, Rosneft, will also help in looking for export market.
