State owned energy firm PT Pertamina is carrying out a study on the possibility of developing two biomass power plants, one each in Bekasi and Makassar.
The study is expected to be completed by the end of December.
?In Bantar Gebang waste landfill (Bekasi), the study covers the possibility of building a 120 MW power plant. In Makassar, the power plant will be fueled by rice husk with a capacity of around 10 MW,? Pertamina Senior VP of Gas and Power Djohardi Angga Kusuma told petromindo.com.
He did not elaborate on budget allocation nor a possible cooperation with other companies, saying those would be determined once the study is completed.
