PT Pertamina EP, an upstream subsidiary of state-owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina, said on Wednesday that it has found 16 mmscd of gas and 175 bpd of condensate potentials during the drilling of the Matindok-7 well within the Matindok Gas Development Project in Central Sulawesi.

The company said in a statement that the gas, found at a depth of 1,900 meters, would become a ?buffer? to fulfill supply commitment to the Donggi Senoro LNG (DSLNG) plant and state-owned electricity firm PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN).

Drilling of the Matindok-7 well was conducted on February 20, and on March 24 a DST was successfully implemented at the new M-52 limestone layer at a depth of 1,892-1,910 meters. This layer is a top the layer of the main reservoir target, the Minahaki Formation.

The drilling of the Matindok-7 well forms part of the seven wells in the Matindok field that are expected to be producing. The Matindok area covers Donggi, Matindok, Maleoraja, and Minahaki fields.

Plan of development (POD) of the Matindok gas development project was approved by the then upstream authority BPMIGAS (now SKKMigas) on December 24, 2008, and which was then revised on March 30, 2011.

Pertamina EP conducts the Matindok Gas Development project as part of efforts to monetize gas potential in the Matindok area of 105 mmscfd (net) to meet the requirement of LNG plant and PLN. The plan is to supply 85 mmscfd to the LNG plant, and 20 mmscfd to PLN.

To support gas supply to consumers, Pertamina EP has also prepared two central processing plants in Donggi and Matindok, which respectively plans to supply 50 mmscfd and 55 mmscfd.
