Pertamina gets approval to auction 20 cargoes of excess LNG

Upstream oil, gas regulator BPMIGAS has approved state owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina (Persero) to hold a tender this month to attract potential buyers for the surplus output of the Bontang LNG plant in East Kalimantan, which total 20 cargoes, a source told Petromindo.Com on Tuesday.

The source said that that the tender will be held later this week, without giving further details.

Last month, Nanang Untung, Pertamina's gas senior vice president, said the firm would eye a group of Japanese buyers, known as Western Buyers, and South Korean firm Kogas in the tender.

According to him, Bontang will have a LNG production surplus amounting to 20 cargoes this year. (godang)
