State oil and gas company PT Pertamina will not import diesel oil this month because it has a lot of stock of the fuel.
Achmad Faisal, the company's director of marketing and commerce, said on Tuesday that company had around 2.2 milion kiloliters of diesel at its storage tanks, which is enough for 38 days of national consumption.
In order to reduce the amount of the diesel stock, Pertamina has planned to export about 400,000 barrels of them, but Achmad said the firm had yet to find buyers who offer good price.
"We shall thus use the stock to meet the local demand. There will no import of the fuel this month. Let's see what happen next month. If the stock signficantly drops, we shall import," he said. (*)
