Baihaki told Petromindo.com Pertamina would make the offer only after studying all data about Devon's operations in the country. Devon would submit to Pertamina such data in January, he said.
"Pertamina will study such data, and also sign an agreement with Devon that we shall not provide the data to other parties," Baihaki told reporters after a hearing with Commission VIII of the House of Representatives in charge of energy and mining affairs.
Devon Energy began its investment in Indonesia in May 2000 when its holding company acquired majority stake in Santa Fe Energy Resources which operated several oil blocks in Indonesia. The oil blocks are located in Jambi, East Java and Irian Jaya.
Devon is selling the local assets as it planned to focus its future growth in other countries.(Godang)
