State oil and gas company Pertamina said it was hopeful to discover gas in its North Sumatra operation after completing drilling Serang Jaya-3 well.

?We have completed drilling to the depth of 3,200 meters, and the drilling suggested strong gas indication. We are going to test the well and hopefully will be able to get the results shortly,? said Eteng Salam, Pertamina?s deputy director upstream on a sideline of parliamentary hearing Tuesday.

Eteng said Pertamina would drill at least one more exploration well in the region after Serang Jaya-3. (godang)
