State-owned oil and gas PT Pertamina has purchased 14.4 million barrels of diesel oil to meet the domestic consumption for the third quarter of 2007, Investor Daily reported Saturday.
Pertamina’s spokesman Toharso said in Jakarta Friday that the company would receive the oil diesel supply from Pacific Petroleum Trading (PPT), Kuwait Petroleum Corp (KPC), Malaysian oil firm Petronas and Thailand oil firm PTT PCL.
Pertamina also changed the benchmark price of Premium gasoline to reflect a switch to a lower sulphur grade from July. Pertamina imported Premium gasoline with sulfur content of 0.35 percent against Platts Singapore sulphur content of 0.25 percent.
According to Toharso, Pertamina imports between five and six million barrels of oil and gas each month to cover one third of the national demand in 2006. (*)
