Pertamina in arrears of up to Rp 8 trillion to government

State owned oil and gas company Pertamina is in arrears of up to Rp 8 trillion to the government this year due to a delay in the payment of the government's revenues from the sales of oil and gas, a source told Koran Tempo on Saturday.

Director General of State Treasury at the Ministry of Finance Mulia Nasution confirmed in Jakarta on Friday that Pertamina had not paid a great amount of the government's revenues from the sales of gas and oil. But he did not unveil the figures.

A source, however, told the newspaper that Pertamina's arrears to the government could reach a total of Rp 8 trillion. (*)
