State owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina has forged a cooperation on enhanced oil recovery (EOR) program development with China?s Daqing OilField Company Ltd. The two companies signed a Head of Agreement (HoA) last week in Jakarta.

The HoA will kick off a three-month feasibility study by the Chinese firm on certain fields belonging to Pertamina. The study results will be the basis for Daqing to come up with a proposal on specific EOR program to be negotiated with Pertamina, according to a media release.

Pertamina President Director Karen Agustiawan said the cooperation is one of Pertamina?s efforts to boost reserves and production, suggesting that more cooperation with other companies may follow suit.
