State owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina (Persero) has been engaged in discussions with UK gas producer firm British Gas (BG) on a long-term supply of liquefied natural gas (LNG).
?Pertamina plans to start importing LNG from BG starting from 2018,? an industry source told Petromindo.com.
?The price tag set by BG for its LNG price is interesting, that is 13 percent or low thirteen,? the source added without further explaining.
Early this year, Pertamina?s Director of New and Renewable Energy Yenni Andayani said that Pertamina requires 6.1 mtpa of the LNG import to meet domestic demand after 2018. The LNG will be used to supply the LNG Storage and Regassification Terminal project in Bojanegara, Pandeglang Regency, Banten Province. The planned LNG terminal will have a capacity of 500 mmscfd, or equal to 4 million tons of LNG.
