Pertamina inaugurates jet fuel depot at Yogyakarta airport

As part of efforts to improve jet fuel supply reliability at the Yogyakarta International Airport in Kulon Progo, state-owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina inaugurated on Friday a “satellite” Aircraft Refill Depot (or DPPU) at the airport equipped with six modular tanks, each with capacity of 23 kilo liters, two units of refueller with capacity of 16 kilo liters, one unit of refueller with capacity of 25 kilo liters, and a number of other supporting facilities.
Senior Vice President Corporate Marketing Business at Pertamina, Ferdy Novianto said in a statement that the satellite DPPU will be operated pending the completion of the main DPPU at the airport.
He said that the main DPPU will have four storage tanks with capacity of up to 1,000 kilo liters.
Jet fuel for the satellite DPPU is supplied via the Rewulu Fuel Terminal, which is located 35-km away, transported through jet fuel truck with capacity of 24 kilo liters.
He added that there has been rising demand for jet fuel at the Yogyakarta airport.
