Pertamina inaugurates jet fuel facility for Kuala Namu airport

State owned oil and gas firm PT Petamina inaugurated on Wednesday its new jet fuel filling depot at the Kuala Namu airport in Deli Serdang regency, North Sumatra.
The operation of the new facility will strengthen jet fuel stock and supply system for the airport, the firm said in a statement.
The facility includes an offshore conventional buoy moorings (CBM), submarine pipeline and receiving facility. The CBM, located off Labu coast, can accommodate 17,000 DWT tanker vessel carrying jet fuel. From the CBM, the fuel is transmitted to Kuala Namu filling depot through a 9.6 km pipeline.
Previously, Pertamina delivered jet fuel for aircraft at the airport using land transportation from the Medan Group fuel depot in Labuhan Deli, Medan.
