Pertamina reviews the prices of its fuel regularly based on MOPS prices.
Pertamina sells its non-subsidized fuel products at different prices depending on the locations. Generally, selling prices in developed islands Java and Sumatra are lower than the ones in less-developed islands in the eastern part of Indonesia.
Starting June 1, Pertamina sells kerosene for industries in Jakarta and surrounding areas at Rp 6,181 per liter, up 9.13 percent from the previous month; high speed diesel (HSD) at Rp 6,288 or up 9.11 percent; motor diesel fuel (MDF) at Rp 5,788 or up 8.67 percent; and marine fuel oil (MFO) at Rp 6,181 per liter or up 2.27 percent.
The government has scrapped subsidies for fuel products sold to industrial users, but still provides huge subsidies for kerosene sold to households and small scale industries, as well as lower quality gasoline and HSD sold to public transportation and motorists. The price of kerosene for households now stands at Rp 2,000 per liter, while the prices of Premium gasoline and HSD for public transportation and cars are now at Rp 4,500 and Rp 4,300 per liter, respectively.
Pertamina has also increased the price of non-subsidized performance gasoline Pertamax to Rp 6,400 per liter from Rp 5,800 for Jakarta and its surrounding areas, while the price of Pertamax Plus has risen to Rp 6,600 per liter from Rp 6,050 and Pertamina DEX to Rp 6,400 per liter from Rp 6,100.
It however sells Pertamax Plus and Pertamax at discount prices at five gas stations located close to its competitors? stations. There, Pertamax Plus is sold at Rp 5,700 and Pertamax at Rp 5,400 per liter. (godang)
