Pertamina increases LPG price for industry

State oil and gas company PT Pertamina announced Tuesday it increased the price of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) for industry by 10.8 percent. The price hike takes effect today.

The LPG bulk price for industry increases from Rp5,280 per kg to Rp5,852 per kg, Pertamina spokesman Toharso said Tuesday.

The price hike has included sale tax of 10 percent, Toharso said.

The price of LPG for household consumption available in containers with a capacity of 50 kg, 12 kg, and 3 kg will remain unchanged, at Rp4,250 per kg.

The second stage of price adjustment is a series of the gradual increase of LPG bulk price towards the market price.

Pertamina made the first stage of the bulk LPG price adjustment on September 11, 2006 by increasing it to Rp5,280 per kg from the previous Rp4,250 per kg .

Currently, LPG is Pertamina?s pure business that is exempted from the government subsidy,? he added. (godang)
