Pertamina increases retail gas prices

State oil, gas firm PT Pertamina (Persero) has increased the retail gas prices at its gas filling stations (SPBG).

The new gas price, effective as of January 10, stands at Rp 3,100 (1US$ = Rp 9,030) per liter equal to premium (LSP), up from Rp 2,562 per LSP.

Pertamina Vice President Corporate Communication Mochamad Harun said Monday that the new price remained below the economic value. ?It (the price) is still far lower than its economic value,? he said. At the present, Pertamina operates 6 gas filling stations and plans to revitalize another 8 gas stations to anticipate growth in the number of customers.

Pertamina is also selling Liquefied Gas for Vehicle (LGV) called Vi-Gas at a price of Rp 3,600 per LSP.(godang)
