State owned oil and Gas Company Pertamina has begun to use an online auction system or e-auction in the procurement of goods and services for the company?s oil and gas activities in the country.
Pertamina opened a bidding for the procurement of hydro cracker catalysts for the company?s oil refinery plant in Dumai Riau during the launch of the online auction system on Monday.
Pertamina?s spokesman Adiatma Sardjito said that the maiden e-auction had been successful during which Pertamina received a bidding price of 20 percent lower than those put in the initial bidding.
The bidders in the maiden e-auction included PT Adiyta Nugraha Pratama, PT Elnusa Harapan, PT Satria Gamareksa and PT Indhasana. The four bidders represented the world?s major hydro cracker catalyst producers.
Adiatama said that the e-auction system had proven to be more effective and efficient. ?More importantly, with the online auction system, Pertamina can receive more competitive prices,? he added. (*)
