Pertamina invites 37 intern?l firms to Bontang refinery project expose

State-owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina will invite 37 international companies and 20 oil and gas international traders to an upcoming project expose meeting for the planned Bontang oil refinery project.
?We?ll seek partners (for the Bontang refinery project) from the 37 international companies which have experience and capacity in developing refinery,? Pertamina Vice President for Corporate Communications Wianda Pusponegoro said on Monday.
She said that Pertamina hopes to be able to have already selected the would-be partner/s in the Bontang refinery project by end of April this year, so that the completion of the project can be made in 2023 as targeted.
As has been previously reported, the government has assigned PT Pertamina to develop and operate fuel refinery in Bontang, East Kalimantan.
According to a decree on the assignment, Pertamina will develop a refinery with capacity of 300,000 bpd on a plot of land belonging to the state in Bontang. The refinery will have minimum fuel oil production of 60,000 bpd with Euro IV specification, and automotive diesel oil production of 124,000 bpd also with Euro IV specification.
Furthermore, the decree says that Pertamina can integrate the planned fuel refinery with petrochemical production, and can partner with other companies in the project.
