State-owned oil and gas company PT Pertamina has launched Gaz Card to improve its services to customers, the Investor Daily reported Wednesday.

Gaz Card is a debit card which can be used to oil and gas products at Pertamina?s gas stations.

?We are being supported by Bank Mandiri, BNI, and BRI. So consumers can just remit money through phone banking, ATM or internet banking,? Pertamina?s deputy director of marketing and trade Hanung Budya said in Jakarta on Tuesday.

According to Hanung, consumers have to deposit a minimum amount of Rp 25,000 at the banks. Consumers just need to show their cards, the gas stations will provide them with they want. But this card will be used among Pertamina officials in the first month and later it will be given to consumers.

?Before Idul Fitri (Islamic) festival, we hope the card can be used at the gas stations located on the northern coast of Java,? Hanung said.

On Tuesday, Pertamina has also launched a similar, Aviation Card for airliners. Adam Air, Sriwijaya Air and Lion Air have already started using the Aviation Card.

?This card can be used only at the Soekarno-Hatta Airport at present,? he said. (*)
