Pertamina launches LVG stations in Bali

State owned PT Pertamina (Persero) launched on Friday the operation of three Liquefied Gas for Vehicle (LGV) stations in Bali.

LVG, a derivative of LPG, has been promoted as an alternative energy to reduce the country?s reliance on oil. Pertamina sells the fuel in Bali under the brand of Vi-Gas

Pertamina?s Trade and Marketing Director Hanung Budya said the prospect of LVG business in Bali is bright. ?In view that Bali will not a gas pipeline network until after five years from now, the island is the right place to develop LVG business,? he said.

The launching ceremony was presided over by Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Jero Wacik at one of the LGV stations on Jl. Hayam Wuruk in Renon, Denpasar.

Pertamina already built several LVG gas stations in Jakarta as well as some CNG (compressed natural gas) stations.
