Pertamina launches new fuel product

State owned oil and gas company Pertamina has launched its new environmental friendly diesel oil DEX (Diesel Environment Extra)in Jakarta, with a price of Rp 6,300 per litter.

The new high-end oil product was officially launched by Pertamina's president Widya Purnama in Jakarta on Monday.

The new oil product, which is produced by the Balongan refinery plant under European quality standard, is now available only at Pertamina's COCO outlets in Jalan Industri, Kemayoran, Central Jakarta, Jalan Rawamangun Muka, East Jakarta, Jalan Jembatan Tiga, North Jakarta and Jalan Panjang, Kebun Jeruk, West Jakarta. This product will be available at the end of August.

Pertamina will also market the oil fuel in other cities in Java, Bali and Batam. Widya estimates that about 5,000 cars would use the new oil product, with total usage of about 26 kiloliters per day.

With the launch of the new oil product, Pertamina will adjust the prices of its Pertamax and Pertamax Plus high-octane gasoline beginning September so that the prices of the two oil products will be about the same with that of DEX. (dino)
