State oil and gas company Pertamina said Tuesday it was likely to pick Singapore-based refiner Shell Singapore for a crude processing deal (CPD), which is expected to start in June for six months.

?No decision had been made yet, but Shell offers better terms and condition. Hopefully, we could come into a decision soon,? Pertamina dowmstream director Muchsin bahar said.

Muchsin said Pertamina was expecting a CPD volume of between 60,000 to 70,000 barrels per day, not 125,000 BPD as earlier reported. Pertamina is seeking for the CPD to anticipate the Balongan refinery shut down, scheduled to start in August.

Pertamina had been in talks with Shell Singapore, a unit of European oil giant Royal Dutch/Shell group, Singapore Petroleum Co Ltd and ExxonMobil Corp. about the crude processing deal.(alex/godang)
