Pertamina looking for partner(s) in MNK Sumbagut PSC

State-owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina is talking with several companies for potential cooperation in developing the state oil and gas firm's MNK Sumbagut PSC (shale gas).

Dedi Yusmen, CBM & Unconventional Hydrocarbon Manager at Pertamina, told petromindo.com that many firms have expressed their interest in such cooperation.

"For us, the main criteria (for potential partnership) are the company must have strong financial standing, technological know-how and experience."

The PSC covers a vast area in the northern part of Sumatra, more familiarly known amongst the upstream sector stakeholders as Sumbagut.

Pertamina targets maiden production to occur in the seventh year operation or six years after exploration with a production rate of 40-100 mmscfd.
