Pertamina lowers fuel prices for industry by up to 12.9 percent

State-owned oil and gas company PT Pertamina lowered retail prices for several non-subsidized fuels for industry beginning August 15, 2008 following the recent decrease in international crude prices.

Pertamina said in Jakarta Thursday that prices for Premium gasoline had been slashed by 11.2 percent to Rp 7,692.30 (US$= Rp 9,184) per liter, kerosene by 11.4 percent to Rp 9,869.10 per liter and high-speed diesel (HSD) by 12.8 percent to Rp 9,540.20 per liter.

Pertamina also slashed the price for marine fuel oil (MFO) by 5.9 percent to Rp 7,149.20 per liter and Marine Diesel Fuel (MDF) by 12.9 percent to Rp 9,371.00 per liter.

Prices of fuels for public transportation are maintained at Rp 6,000 per liter for premium gasoline and Rp 5,500 per liter for HSD. Price for subsidized kerosene for household and small industry consumption is maintained at Rp. 2,500 per liter.

Meanwhile the new price for Pertamax gasoline in Jakarta, Banten, and West Java is Rp 8,900 compared with Rp 9,850 per liter previously. The price of Pertamax Plus gasoline in the same regions have been slashed to Rp 9,100 from Rp 10,100 per liter, while the price of Dex gasoline has been lowered to Rp 11,400 from Rp 12,900 per liter and BioPertamax to Rp 8,900 from Rp 9,850 per liter.
