State-owned oil and gas company Pertamina will lower the prices of its high octane Pertamax and bio fuel Bio Pertamax by Rp 62 per liter as part of the company's program to celebrate the country's Independence Day.

Pertamina said Monday that beginning Thursday, the price of Pertamax will be lowered to between Rp 6,438 and Rp 6,938 a liter.

Meanwhile the price of Bio Pertamax will be lowered to between Rp 6,338 and Rp 6,538 a litter. In Jakarta, Banten and West Java (region III), Pertamax and Bio Pertamax will be both sold at Rp 6,388 a liter.

Unlike the previous price cuts which were made as an adjustment to the fluctuation of crude oil prices, the new price cut will be made as part of Pertamina's program to celebrate the Independence Day. (godang)
