Pertamina lowers prices of CNG and Pertamax

State-owned oil and gas company Pertamina has lowered the price of compressed natural gas (CNG) by 14.6 percent to Rp 2,562 per litter equivalent from Rp 3,000 as part of the company's program to support the government's campaign to reduce the use of oil fuel, Media Indonesia reported Monday.
Pertamina's spokesman Toharso said that the new price began effective on Aug. 1 at mid night in all of the gas stations in Jakarta greater area including Bogor, Tangerang , Bekasi and Depok.
He said that Pertamina had also lowered the price of non-subsidized fuel Petramax in Java to Rp 6,100 per litter from Rp 6,600 per litter as an adjustment to the fall in the fuel prices set under Mid Oil Platt's Singapore (MOPS), the benchmark of Pertamina's selling prices.
Toharso said that the prices of Pertamax in areas outside Java such as Bali, Sumatra and Kalimantan were also lowered by Rp 500 per litter. "However, for Batam area, the price of Pertamax was raised by Rp 550 per litter," he added. (*)
