After its marketing success in China and Australia all along this year, Pertamina Lubricants has recently managed to further expand its foreign market share by penetrating the lubricant market in Vietnam, which has seen a continual economic growth.

The company said in a press statement that it has made another breakthrough to Vietnam market through the automotive and industrial segment. The first shipment was made from Tanjung Priok port on August 30, 2012. It comprised various Pertamina lubricants, including Meditran SX, Mesran Series and Turalik. The shipment is expected to reach port of Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam in three days.

Vietnam, which has been shifting from a Communist country with a centralized system toward a growingly market-oriented country, is one of Asian countries that has seen its economy to continue growing robustly.

As a result, foreign investments have been flowing in significantly to Vietnam, whose 80 million population is an attractive potential captive market.

Vietnam's limited oil and gas resource pushes the country to depend on fuel and lubricant imports from Thailand, Singapore, and some multinational companies which have been growing their oil and gas business in Vietnam.

Pertamina Lubricants has appointed Indochina Petroleum Trading Joint Stock Company as exclusive distributor in Vietnam. With the company's business network, Pertamina is confident that the market penetration of its lubricants will be successful as Pertamina Lubricant's superior quality and competitive pricing will make the products to have competitive edge in Vietnam.
